McCOY AIR FORCE BASE |

This site dedicated to the dogs I handled as a Sentry Dog Handler while in the U.S. Air Force. I joined the Air Force on June 10, 1964. After basic training at Lackland A.B. in Texas I was assigned to McCoy Air Force Base in Orlando, Fla as a Security Policeman. Early 1965 I volunteer to be a Sentry Dog Handler. My first dog was Boy, he was 9 years old and had been a sentry dog for more then 7 years. I learned how to be a handler though O.J.T. and he was my instructor. The pictures on this page were taken at McCoy in 1966. In January 1966 I gave up Boy to attend Sentry Dog School at Lackland. I will always remember Boy because he was great dog and he showed my how to be a good handler. |
